Ryan Walks and Kaitlyn Reads!

Tuesday, December 2, 2008

Ryan has been walking for a couple of weeks now and is getting really good. He runs around the house now. Here's a little video of him.

Kaitlyn is getting better at reading. Since the beginning of the school year, she has jumped 3 reading levels. She loves reading, and she even reads to Ryan.

Thanksgiving

We had are own Thanksgiving dinner this year because both our parents had other plans. It was yummy. Kaitlyn ate a whole can of olives by herself! Ryan ate quite a bit o food, including turkey, mashed potato's, stuffing, and roll. He sure loves eating big boy food now.

Friday we went to Wal-mart at 5am and it was a madhouse! We also decorated for Christmas, and Ryan loved it. He was fascinated by the lights.

Halloween

Halloween was lots of fun for the kids. Kaitlyn was a pink bunny rabbit and Ryan was a little lion. They got LOTS of candy. First, we went to my parents and went to their Trunk-or-Treat. Then we went to Justin's parents and went Trick-or-Treating around their neighborhood. Needless to say, the kids ate too much sugar. Here they are in their costumes.

Update on the Kids

Sunday, October 12, 2008

It's been a long time since we posted, so here's a bunch of stuff that happened.

Ryan has learned to crawl and to pull himself up on stuff. He also has started to walk around holding onto the couch. He tries to let go and stand on his own, but falls on him bottom after a second or two. He is a crazy mischievous little guy. He loves to dance (as you can see below). He pulls all the movies out of the entertainment center, laughing the whole time. He likes to get into EVERYTHING, and steals everything he can reach. He claims stuff by putting it into his toy box. We found my keys and Justin's scriptures in there before. He has six teeth (four on top and two on the bottom) and is always working on more. :)

Kaitlyn has been doing great in school. We met with her teacher who said she's sweet to all the other kids and is reading great. She had her school pictures a couple weeks ago, and this time she smiled! Kaitlyn lost another tooth lately and has glasses now. She is growing up into a beautiful girl. She already loves clothes and shopping.

Ryan the Big Boy

Thursday, August 28, 2008

Ryan has been getting bigger every day. We had to buy him a big boy car seat and a new bathtub. He loves his new duck bathtub and will play in it as long as we'll let him.

He gets more mobile all the time. He usually scoots on him bottom using his hands. Now he's getting on all fours, but hasn't figured out how to go forward on all fours yet. He is starting to get into stuff though. Yesterday he opened Justin's scriptures and ripped a couple of pages.
He's also getting his fourth tooth and it grumpy about it. Poor baby. He smiles the most when he's with his sister. The other day he was laughing so hard he couldn't catch his breath because Kaitlyn was throwing toys on the ground and laughing. The are really cute together. We sure are lucky to have such great kids!

Back to School

Monday, August 18, 2008

Today was Kaitlyn's 1st day of 1st grade. She had a really fun day. We bought her a new Disney Princess backpack and lunch box to take. She likes her new teacher Ms. Foote, and has several friends from Kindergarten in her class, including her best friend Citlalli. She got to choose her own seat, and chose to sit in the front of the room near the teacher's desk. She's excited to be back in school.

Changes

Sunday, July 13, 2008

I just thought I'd update everyone on all the changes we've had in the past little while. Today we moved Ryan's crib into Kaitlyn's room so we'll see how that goes. We were going to wait until Ryan slept through the night, but he's not at all interested, so we thought maybe if he wasn't in our room he would get the idea.

Wednesday I start a new job down at UVU in the Human Resource file room working 25 hours a week. I'm really excited for the new opportunity! I'm also signed up to take full-time classes in the fall, so our lives will be busy.

This past week was our 7th wedding anniversary. It doesn't seem like it's been that long and I'm so happy to be with the man I love. I am so grateful for Justin, Kaitlyn and Ryan!

6 Months Old

Thursday, June 19, 2008

Today Ryan is 6 months old, or as Kaitlyn calls it, his half birthday. He is 18 lbs 8 oz. and is getting stronger everyday. His hand-eye coordination is really good. He has learned how to hit and loves to pound on anything nearby, including me. He can sit up for a few minutes now without toppling over. He smiles and laughs all the time, especially at his big sister. He sure is growing up fast. We love you Ryan!

Teeth

Sunday, June 8, 2008

Ryan got his first teeth. In the past week and a half he's had his two bottom teeth come in. They are nice and sharp (especially when biting mommy). He has not been sleeping at night, but I can't blame him. It can't feel good to have something sharp push through your gums.

Growing Up So Fast

Thursday, May 29, 2008

Here are some new pictures of Ryan. He is getting big very quickly. As you can see he can now sit up on his own for a while, after a couple minutes he usually topples over but he is a strong boy for only 5 months. He also likes to chill with Daddy and watch baseball. Go Cubs.

We are also very proud of Kaitlyn for how much she has grown up this year. Yesterday we got to go see her dance in the school dance festival. She was one of the best dancers in all of Kindergarten. She now has only two more days of school til summer.

Goodbye Kindergarten

Sunday, May 18, 2008

This Friday, Kaitlyn officially graduated from Kindergarten. Her school had a fun program where all the kindergartners sang songs, recited sayings and received their diplomas.

We were very proud of Kaitlyn for overcoming her shyness and singing loud and smiling the whole time. She has grown up a lot this year. She is participating in all the activities in church and school and is reading at a 2nd grade level. Here are some pictures from during and after the program.

Squash!

Monday, May 12, 2008

Ryan had his first food other than rice cereal today. We feed him some squash. At fist he made the funniest face I had ever seen, but after a few more bites, he decided it was really good. He ate a whole container in less them 5 minutes. I've never seen him eat that fast or that much at once. It must taste better then rice cereal :) He sure made a big mess though!

Time for Solids!

Saturday, April 26, 2008

Ryan got to try his first solids today. He went to the doctor on Wednesday who gave him the OK so he got his first taste of real food today. At first he made faces and spit it back out, but he finally got the hang of it and got some in his tummy.

Ready to go!

Yummy rice cereal.

Not so sure about this.....

Ryan keeps growing so fast. He already weighs 15 lbs. 9 oz, and is 25 in. long. He grew out of all his clothes and is already wearing 6 months clothes. He is growing up so fast.

Ryan's Blessing

Sunday, April 13, 2008

Today was Ryan's blessing. We had a lot of family come and it was wonderful! We had a get together after and had lots of fun together. Here are a few pictures of today's events. Thanks to everybody who came. It was a great day.

Justin and Ryan. What handsome boys!

Ryan and Jennifer.

Ryan and Grandma Agla. Look at those smiles.

Here is a picture of four generations of family.

Such a happy, handsome boy!

Happy Easter!

Monday, March 24, 2008

Yesterday was a wonderful sunny Easter day. We had a great visit from the Easter bunny who gave way to much candy. Kaitlyn got everything she wanted and then some, and tried to eat all of her candy at once. Ryan enjoyed his cookie monster bunny, but didn't get any candy (although I'm sure he'll enjoy some next year). He did think his hand tasted just fine.

Here are the kids in their new easter outfits ready for church. Ryan had a grumpy day at church, but is still the sweetest boy in the world. We love our children so much. :)

After church we went to Grandpa and Grandma Agla's where the kids had an easter egg hunt and we all ate. We all love being with family on holidays. We hope everyone had a wonderful day. Happy Easter!

3 months old!

Thursday, March 20, 2008

Ryan is now 3 months old. We can't believe how fast he has grown and all the things he can do now. When he is awake he is almost always smiling and is a great baby. He loves to lay on the floor and play with his sister and he coos and talks to everyone. Here is a little slide show that shows just how much he has grown and changed.

Night-time Party!

Thursday, March 13, 2008

Hi. My name is Ryan and I love to party all night. Here is a picture of me at 5am, wide awake. I love my crib as you can see, but only to party, not to sleep. Thank you all for joining me at my night-time party!

Kid's Bedding

Saturday, March 1, 2008

We finally got Ryan's crib all set up and found the cutest bedding! We needed some boy bedding and Justin insisted that it have something to do with sports. Also, Kaitlyn wanted us to show a picture of her bed with all the Disney Princess stuff. She loves them!

Introductions

Sunday, February 24, 2008

We thought we would take a minute to introduce ourselves. Justin and Jenni met on the high school debate team. We dated for two years and were married shortly after Jenni graduated from high school. Kaitlyn was born in December 2001 and changed our lives forever. We moved to our current apartment in Orem in February 2003. Justin began attending UVSC in 2005 and is a little more than half way done. Jenni has been working at Hoffman and Company since 2002. In December 2007 we were blessed with our second child, Ryan. We are having a fun time raising our family. Here is a little bit about each of us.

Justin is 26 years old and is attending UVSC. He will have his Associates in History in April and will continue on to get his Bachelors as well. He is a huge sports fan. Ever since he was very young has has been a die-hard fan of the Chicago Cubs and hopes to someday see them win the World Series. He is also a big fan of the NFL and BYU sports.

Jenni is 25 years old and is working part-time at Hoffman and Company in the payroll department. She loves being a mom and spending time with her family. She also loves to go shopping and if she ever has time she enjoys reading as well.

Kaitlyn is our oldest child. She is 6 years old. She is currently going to full-day Kindergarten, which she loves very much. She is a happy kid and has a great smile. She loves stuffed animals, coloring and playing on the monkey bars. She is also very happy to finally be a big sister.

Ryan is the newest member of our family. He was born on December 19th. He currently weighs 11lbs 12 oz and is 24 inches long. As you can see from his pictures he is the cutest baby in the world. His favorite things to do are eat and sleep (especially eat.)
